Have a Sweet Day

Do you need a little mini-vacation without leaving your desk? Here are some beautiful things to make you smile.....JUST BECAUSE......I love you all and God has a beautiful plan for your life. I just wanted you to know it!
Autumn is approaching and it is my favorite time of the year! What do you love about fall? I used to live near the foothills of the Adironadack Mountains. The hills would literally be ablaze with vibrant, russet red and bittersweet orange.. One of my favorite things to eat in the fall, when I lived there, was freshly made Apple Cider Donuts. So tender and yummy....covered with cinnamon and sugar. Oh my, I'm salivating!
Maybe your idea of a little vacation would be a trip to Paris to go "fleaing". That would be sweet too! The other day I awoke from a dream that so wonderful. I was at an estate sale and I was finding hidden treasures that no one wanted and no one else had spotted and it was every beautiful shabby thing I loved. Imagine that! Did you ever have a dream like that?
Don't you wish you had a closer look at what is on these tables? But one thing I see that I do not like....everyone looks like they are dressed for winter and so do the trees! Brr. Think I will go make a cup of coffee with Parisian Creamer right now in my cozy kitchen! HUGS and TWEETS!
Let your light shine to those around you so that the love of God shines clearly to each and every person you encounter today!

Sunflower Success

GARDEN OF SUNFLOWERS

A garden of Sunflowers beckoned to me -
Come join us, my lady, and joyous you'll be!
We're large ones and small ones, some dainty and fair,
And even some delicate to wear in your hair.
We follow the sun, swaying slowly without a care,
We have a new dance that with you we will share.
Gently hold onto our leaves, allow us to lead the way,
To our Sunflower two-step, dancing throughout the day.
I couldn't resist them, so dandy a sight!
So off I did go in my Sunflower flight.
What a glorious time, right up til twilight,
And then I had to bid my Sunflowers good-night.
So happy were we, a long day filled with fun,
Upon leaving I kissed them, each and every one.
So tender the moment, as I turned to leave.
With eyes brimmed with tears, could I truly believe?
OH! It was so true!! I then knew it to be!!!
I had to smile, 'cause they were all winking at me!!!!

I just had to share this beautiful sunflower from my garden with you! I had shared earlier this spring that the bugs were eating all of my sunflowers. I replanted them five different times. Finally, after spraying the bugs so many times with insecticidal soap, they finally gave up. They decided I wasn't going away and they might as well move on to eating other flowers. They must have been sick of seeing me coming after them every night with my spray bottle! I was determined that I would have at least a few beautiful sunflowers in my garden. SUCCESS! I have three healthy and growing plants. By the looks of the amount of buds, I shall have many lovely sunflowers before the fall is over. I am so happy! This photo is the first brave flower to bloom! Right before I snapped this photo, a big fat bumblebee was buried up to his bee armpits in sunflower pollen. When he saw me, he flew away! I hope that this photo brightens your day like it did mine! Hugs and Tweets to you!

So pretty!

It's a rainy, dark morning here in Iowa. I am sipping a bracing cup of black tea and getting ready to take my son to school. I found this sweet blog and when I saw this photo, I knew I had to share it here! I love it! You can visit this pretty blog here!  I hope your day is off to a smooth start and that you have had a moment to enjoy a nice cup or tea or coffee too! What lovely adventures await!

Storing Up

I sleepily came down to my kitchen this morning to see both of my sweet kitties watching SOMETHING very intently out the window. I quietly took a peek so I could see what they were so enraptured by. HEY! A very cute little squirrel was MUNCHING greedily on the heads of my Black-Eyed Susans and making a big MESS! He saw the two cats and me looking at him....but did he care???? NOPE! He sat there with his little paws filled with my yellow flowers, happily and hungrily chomping up my flowers. He only eats the black centers and leaves yellow petals all over. NOT SO CUTE!

Flea Market Style FALL

Okay, so some of you will be totally jealous of me! I was in Barnes and Noble today, looking at magazines. I walked past the abandoned cart of the magazine shelf stocker and what did I find??????
I was so pleased to snatch this new magazine up! I nearly RAN to the check-out! It wasn't even entered into the system yet, so she had to enter it manually to get it to ring up! I took a quick peek once I was back in my car, (sipping my Starbucks Peppermint Mocha) and I was even more delighted to see this feature on the front cover! "Insider Guide to Treasure Hunting in Nashville." My dear daughter lives in Nashville and works as a nurse there. I go several times a year to visit her and we LOVE to treasure shop! Oh what fun!!! The magazine looks awesome as usual and I will let you know in the days ahead how it is! Hope you score a copy soon!

Soaking up the Last Summer Days

I'm back from a long trip to visit family and non-stop travel across the country. Back to un-pack and get one of my kids settled into college, back to catch up on my etsy shop, back just in time to get my youngest started back to school tomorrow....I'M TIRED.
There is so much that I need to do and so much that I want to do but where did my energy go?
I definitely could use a cup of THIS!
I feel like I need to soak up the last rays of summer like this beautiful sunflower. Turn my face to the sunshine and absorb all the warmth and energy!
Maybe a little snack is all I need!
I'm off to find some energy and get busy doing what I need to do! Hope you are all doing well and keeping up with your busy lives! Talk to you again soon! LOVE!!!
